Choose the Correct Records Office

For a St. Louis County jail question, begin with the Department of Justice Services. The Buzz Westfall Justice Center is at 100 South Central Avenue, Clayton, MO 63105. The general number is 314-615-5245, and the published email is JSocial@stlouiscountymo.gov. Detention operates continuously, but that does not mean each administrative records service accepts walk-in requests around the clock.

Request county release documents through the St. Louis County records portal. Ask for the final IJMS release time, release type, authority, and destination. For a Ferguson-only or Florissant-only detention, contact that city police department. If the person transferred to the county jail, request the city sending record and the county receiving record separately.

For a sentenced state prisoner, active parolee, or probationer, use the Missouri Department of Corrections search first. MODOC’s general contact number is 573-751-2389, and its contact page routes department questions. State offender or discharge records may be requested from OD.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov. Parole Board records may be directed to ParoleBoard.SunshineRequest@doc.mo.gov.

The following links route common needs to the relevant page or official system:

  • For a released person or county release record, use the complete St. Louis County search and records path.
  • For state supervision after release, review Probation & Parole and verify the assigned MODOC office.
  • For recent county release questions, use Jail Releases: 24 Hours; no official county feed was verified, so the page leads to the proper fallback.
  • For timing or alerts, see Projected Release and VINELink Inmate Search.
  • For a city or county jail, use the detention facility links in the footer and contact the operator listed on that page.
  • For a Missouri state case, use MODOC Offender Search. A fully discharged person may require a historical record or direct inquiry.
  • For federal prison custody, use the BOP Inmate Locator. For immigration custody, use the ICE locator and treat a no-result response as inconclusive.
